Project Overview:

This initiative, "Inside Rakuten AI," was designed to share Rakuten's vision for AI: making it useful and accessible for everyone, while ensuring it's built ethically and safely. It involved deep dives with Rakuten's AI leaders to explain the technology, its strategy, and the people driving it.

My role was to help make this complex story clear, engaging, and persuasive for a wide audience.

As a leader in this project, I helped turn Rakuten's advanced AI strategy into understandable and impactful communication:


Strategic Storytelling & Content Development:
I worked to translate Rakuten's complex AI strategy – including its "first principles" approach and the "Rakuten AI Foundation" (deep learning, embeddings) – into a compelling narrative. This involved simplifying technical details for a broad audience.


Showcasing Innovation & Impact:
I helped explain how Rakuten is using AI to create new value across its vast ecosystem, from improving search and recommendations to enhancing customer support, and how this contributes to a global economy set to grow by nearly $20 trillion by 2030.


Project Management for Communication:
I managed the process of gathering insights from AI leaders, structuring the information, and preparing it for internal and external communication, ensuring the message was consistent and impactful. This included highlighting how Rakuten handles AI security, testing with "Red Teams," and continuous compliance.
